Kenaikan Tarif Dasar Listrik Segera Dibahas

Jakarta, Kompas - Pemerintah memperkirakan kebutuhan subsidi listrik tahun 2011 berkisar Rp 36,44 triliun sampai Rp 50,81 triliun. Hal ini dengan asumsi bahwa penetapan kenaikan tarif dasar listrik atau TDL tahun 2010 terlaksana.Menteri Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral Darwin Zahedy Saleh memaparkan hal itu dalam rapat kerja dengan Komisi VII DPR yang membahas asumsi makro dalam Rancangan APBN 2011, Selasa (8/6) di Jakarta.

Jakarta, Kompas - Pembangunan jalan tol dalam kota bukan jawaban untuk mengatasi kemacetan. Ruang yang dibangun tak akan mampu menampung jumlah dan pertumbuhan kendaraan yang beredar. Pemerintah sebaiknya mempercepat pembangunan transportasi massal.
Pernyataan tersebut justru dilontarkan oleh Direktur Utama PT Jasa Marga Tbk Frans S Sunito, Selasa (8/6) di Jakarta. Jasa Marga adalah operator tol terbesar yang mengoperasikan 531 kilometer jalan tol atau 76 persen dari seluruh jalan tol.

A growing number of Americans want the United States to regulate greenhouse gas emissions as the largest oil spill in U.S. history helps boost interest in petroleum alternatives, a poll by two universities found on Tuesday.About 77 percent of 1,204 Americans polled support regulating carbon dioxide as a pollutant, up 6 percentage points from January, according to the poll by researchers at Yale and George Mason universities.

The White House on Tuesday threatened a presidential veto if Congress passes a measure to strip the Environmental Protection Agency of its authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions.
Senator Lisa Murkowski, a Republican from Alaska, is leading an effort against looming EPA regulation and has 40 co-sponsors for the bill, which is set for a vote on Thursday.
"The EPA intends to take control of climate policy; take it away from the Congress," Murkowski told reporters.
