BANTUL, KOMPAS.com - Meski mengakibatkan gagal panen di sejumlah daerah, perubahan iklim belum mengancam produksi pangan. Petani dihimbau untuk aktif berkonsultasi dengan dinas pertanian sebelum memulai masa tanam. Pemerintah daerah juga diharapkan aktif menciptakan varietas yang tangguh terhadap perubahan iklim.
Hal itu disampaikan Menteri Pertanian Suswono usai meresmikan pusat pendidikan dan pelatihan pertanian terpadu, di Banguntapan, Bantul, Di Yogyakarta, Rabu (30/6/2010). Kegagalan panen terutama disebabkan serangan wereng batang coklat.
