Jakarta, Kompas - Pertemuan persiapan Konferensi Perserikatan Bangsa
Bangsa untuk Perubahan Iklim di Bangkok dinilai tak menunjukkan kemajuan
berarti dan menjauh dari prinsip keadilan iklim. Target penurunan emisi
oleh negara maju dikhawatirkan tak terpenuhi.Kepala Departemen Keadilan
Iklim Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (Walhi) Teguh Surya mengatakan itu
di Jakarta, Kamis (7/4). Ia mengikuti pertemuan di Bangkok. Konferensi itu
merupakan pertemuan putaran pertama di tahun 2011 untuk mendiskusikan
lebih lanjut pelaksanaan mandat Bali Action Plan dan Cancun Agreement,
serta komitmen negara maju dalam Protokol Kyoto.[read]
Biodiesel dari Penampungan Limbah

Bahan Bakar Nabati Biodiesel dapat diperoleh di penampungan limbah cair
rumah pemotongan hewan maupun limbah cair peternakan. Peneliti dari
Institut Pertanian Bogor membuktikan itu. Mereka dapat memperoleh satu
liter minyak kasar biodiesel per hari dari setiap rata-rata 156 meter
persegi luas penampungan.[read]

The Senate rejected a measure on Wednesday to permanently stop the
Environmental Protection Agency from regulating greenhouse gas emissions
blamed for warming the planet.
The EPA's rules to fight emissions remain one of President Barack Obama's

former communist countries and Turkey, an EBRD report said on
Wednesday.The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development called for

Japan is not seeking an exemption from its Kyoto Protocol pledges to cut
greenhouse gases, a government official said on Tuesday, despite a nuclear
safety crisis that could hamper efforts to reduce its use of fossil fuels.
Japan remains committed to achieving reduced emissions in the 2008-2012
period averaging 6 percent less than its 1990 level, said Takehiro Kano,
director of the Climate Change Division of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs.

Poorer nations upped the ante on rich countries at U.N. climate talks on
Tuesday by demanding that the world's main climate treaty be extended from
2013 and for industrialized countries to deepen carbon-cutting
pledges.Failure to do risked scuttling drawn-out and often fraught
negotiations on ways to slow the growth of planet-warming greenhouse gas
emissions and avoid greater extremes of weather and rising sea levels.
