Jakarta, Kompas - Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup kesulitan memperbarui data
emisi gas rumah kaca dari berbagai instansi pemerintah. Data diperlukan
sebagai pijakan pembangunan dan memantau kemajuan proyek pengurangan
emisi.
Data emisi gas rumah kaca (GRK) terbaru Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup (KLH)
adalah data tahun 2000. Angka itu yang dipakai Presiden Susilo Bambang
Yudhoyono untuk menargetkan penurunan emisi 26 persen tanpa bantuan asing
dan 41 persen dengan bantuan asing pada tahun 2020.[read]

Jakarta, Kompas - Perdebatan mengenai perlu tidaknya pembangunan
pembangkit listrik tenaga nuklir dalam jangka pendek diminta diakhiri.
Namun, penguasaan teknologi nuklir diharap terus didukung untuk tujuan
kemanusiaan, seperti di bidang kesehatan dan pangan. PLTN sebagai
pembangkit energi untuk seratus tahun lagi."Pada tahun 2100 diharapkan
telah ada teknologi PLTN yang jauh lebih maju, kesiapan pemerintah yang
lebih bersih dan transparan, serta penggunaan energi terbarukan sudah
optimal," kata mantan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup Sonny Keraf saat berbicara
pada diskusi bertema "Perlukah PLTN Dibangun di Indonesia untuk Memenuhi

against five big power companies can proceed, with several justices saying
the Environmental Protection Agency, not federal judges, should deal with

temperature, scientists reported Sunday.Researchers warned that this does
