Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Mencairnya gletser dan lembaran es menyebabkan terbebaskannya polutan penyebab kanker ke udara dan lautan, ungkap para ilmuwan seperti dikutip dari Dailymail.
Bahan kimia yang tahan lama itu masuk ke rantai makanan dan makin menumpuk dalam tubuh manusia sehingga dapat memicu tumor, penyakit hati dan ketidaksuburan.Peringatan itu datang dari sebuah penelitian internasional terbaru yang meneliti tentang hubungan antara perubahan iklim dan racun buatan manusia yang disebut persistent organic pollutants (POPs).

Tokyo (ANTARA News) - Perdana Menteri Jepang Naoto Kan menyambut hasil perundingan iklim Perserikatan Bangsa Bangsa (PBB) di Meksiko sebagai "langkah besar" ke arah pelibatan Amerika Serikat dan China dalam kerangka kerja internasional untuk melawan pemanasan global."Ini adalah hasil yang sangat besar," kata Kan kepada media Jepang Sabtu malam setelah dua pekan pembicaraan berakhir di Cancun dengan menyetujui pembentukan dana baru untuk mengelola miliaran dolar bantuan kepada negara-negara miskin.
