Beijing, Senin - Merebaknya konsumerisme di China yang menyerang kalangan menengah merupakan penyebab meningkatnya jejak karbon di negeri tersebut. Demikian diungkapkan aktivis lingkungan setempat.Melonjaknya pembangunan konstruksi, transportasi, dan produksi barang serta jasa merupakan faktor kunci yang menggelembungkan emisi karbon China. European governments have fulfilled a promise to deliver 2.2 billion euros ($3 billion) to help poor countries tackle climate change, EU reports show, but critics say the money might have come from rebranding existing aid pledges.At last year's Copenhagen climate summit, rich countries pledged $30 billion of "fast start finance" to help poorer countries adapt to climate change and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions during 2010-2012.[read]

Less than 10 percent of the articles written about last year's Copenhagen climate summit dealt primarily with the science of climate change, a study showed on Monday.Based on analysis of 400 articles written about the December 2009 summit, the authors of the report for Oxford University's Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism (RISJ) called for a re-think of reporting on future such conferences.[read]
