Dengan keterbatasan pengetahuanku, aku coba jawab kenapa kita mesti berkata Tidak pada perkebunan sawit di Kalimantan :

Pola kebun sawit di Sumatera berbeda dengan di Kalimantan, Di Sumatera, walau tidak semua juga, polanya adalah perkebunan rakyat. Perorangan punya lahan sawit beberapa hektar, hasilnya dijual ke pabrik penyulingan. Meskipun juga ada beberapa perusahaan besar seperti Sinar Mas yang punya kebun sangat luas di Sumatera. Lalu lahan-lahan yang umumnya dipakai adalah bukan lahan hutan, tapi peruntukkan perkebunan. Hal ini yang berbeda di Kalimantan. Selain kepemilikan perkebunan hanya di tangan segelintir perusahaan2, program2 sejuta lahan ini biasanya membuka hutan (dengan segala cara mengubah status hutan lindung jadi lahan produktif), karena umumnya hutan rakyat di Kalimantan bukan sawit, tetapi karet.

Informasi di atas tidak dilengkapi data2 yang akurat, seperti berapa luas lahan dsbnya, tetapi hanya dari kesimpulanku setelah mendengar omongan teman2 di Sumatera maupun Kalimantan.

Tolong berikan alasan yang kuat untuk kita mengatakan "TIDAK"
Perkebunan Sawit telah ada sejak lama dan dimulai di Sumatera.
Mengapa Kalimantan "TIDAK"  ?
