iya yah kereeen....tinggal masukin sampah utk bahan bakar mobil...mantap!
tp berarti kita hrs menghasilkan sampah terus dong ya dlm jumlah banyak? jgn2 gara2 ada mobil ini tingkat konsumsi jd hrs lebih tinggi, biar mobilnya bs jalan terus? :-)

HEDDERSFIELD, PedomanNEWS.com - Mengangkut sampah dengan truk tak perlu bensin lagi. Bahkan sampah itu menjadi bahan bakarnya. Setidaknya itu telah terjadi di Inggris bagian tengah, tepatnya di kota Heddersfield.
Truk sampah itu mengangkut sampah dari satu tempat ke tempat lainnya dengan sampah sebagai sumber tenaganya. Pada akhirnya truk tiba di tempat pembuangan akhir dalam konsisi sampah telah terurai. Pun, ramah lingkungan karena tak mengemisi karbon berbahaya.
Berbahan Truk Ford Transit, truk ini berbaterai litinium-ion 40kwh sebagai pengganti mesin truk. Generatornya menghasilkan listrik 10 megawatt, yang setara dengan konsumsi kota Huddersfield.
Cara kerjanya, sampah dibakar dan diubah menjadi energi listrik di dalam generator sampah. Hasil pembakaran kemudian diubah menjadi energi listrik oleh generator.
Diduga, Garbage Truck diciptakan karena inspirasi dari mobil DeLorean dalam film Back To The Future. Mobil dalam film itu menggunakan sampah sebagai bahan bakarnya.
Bedanya, DeLorean memiliki generator listrik dalam mobilnya, sedangkan dalam truk ini tidak. Harapannya, Garbage Truck dapat diaplikasikan pula di negara lain. Selain ramah lingkungan, masalah sampah pun teratasi perlahan. Apalagi utnuk masalah sampah yang tak dapat terurai secara alami. Kapan Indonesia akan menyusul? (CONCEPT)
